What does AI transformation mean in practice?

How are AIM consulting engagements structured and priced?
AIM structures work as a fixed-scope project, a phased engagement or an ongoing retainer, depending on how clearly the outcome can be defined and how much iteration is expected. Pricing is scoped without publishing a universal dollar figure because requirements, data readiness, integrations, controls, delivery responsibilities and support needs differ by engagement.
A fixed-scope project fits a bounded deliverable with clear acceptance criteria. A phased engagement separates discovery, design, build and rollout decisions. A retainer supports continuing optimization, reporting, additions or operational assistance. The proposal should state scope, assumptions, deliverables, responsibilities and change handling.
What drives the cost of an AI consulting engagement up or down?
Cost generally rises with broader scope, more systems and data sources, complex integrations, inconsistent data, custom interfaces, higher control requirements, extensive user testing, migration work and ongoing support. Cost generally falls when the use case is narrow, owners are available, data is accessible, acceptance criteria are clear and existing systems expose reliable integration methods.

What does AIM need from a client to start?

Perfect documentation is not required at the outset. How is success and ROI measured?
Success is measured against an agreed baseline and use-case-specific outcomes, not a generic AI ROI percentage. How does AIM handle client data?

Sensitive fields can sometimes be removed, masked or represented with controlled samples during early design and testing. What system access does AIM require?
Access is determined by the work and should be limited to what is necessary for discovery, building, testing or deployment. Some assessments need only interviews, exports and sample files; integrations may require controlled credentials, API access, a test environment or collaboration with the client's system administrator.
AIM and the client should document who grants access, its purpose, environment, duration and revocation process. Read-only access may be sufficient for analysis, while deployment may require narrowly defined write permissions. The objective is proportionate access, not blanket entry into unrelated client systems.
Can AIM work with existing systems instead of replacing them?
Yes. AIM can design solutions around a client's existing systems when those systems are suitable, accessible and capable of supporting the required workflow. Integration, reporting layers, controlled exports, APIs and targeted automation may deliver the desired outcome without replacing a core platform.
Replacement is considered only when the current environment cannot meet important requirements or creates unacceptable constraints. The recommendation may be to connect, configure, supplement or replace, but it should follow evidence rather than a default preference.
What happens if an AI pilot does not work?

Yes. Ongoing support can be arranged when a client needs monitoring, adjustments, new workflow steps, dashboard changes, model or prompt refinement, documentation updates, user assistance or continued optimization. Support scope and cadence are defined separately so responsibilities, response expectations and included work are clear rather than assumed.
Some clients may prefer a completed handover to an internal owner, while others may use an ongoing retainer. The appropriate model depends on system criticality, internal capacity, expected change and the operational data needed to guide improvements.
